How do I import parcels from the courier's Excel or CSV?

Download the parcel list from your courier's panel as Excel or CSV. Then open Courier & parcels, press Import, choose the courier and the file, and press Import. New parcels are added and parcels already here are updated, never doubled.

Where to find it

Admin › ERP › Sales Department › Courier & parcels, button Import. On the tab of a courier with no live connection there is also a button Import parcels.

The owner, Admin, Manager, Marketing Manager and Courier Manager can import (a Production Manager only sees parcels). Sellers cannot.

Step by step

  1. In your courier's panel, download the parcel (consignment) list as Excel (.xlsx or .xls) or CSV.
  2. In Courier & parcels, press Import.
  3. In Courier, pick the courier the file came from.
  4. In Excel or CSV file, choose the file.
  5. Press Import and wait. The button shows "Importing…" while it reads the file.
  6. You land on the parcels list with a message such as "Imported — 120 new parcels, 35 updated, 2 rows skipped."

Good to know

  • Columns it needs: a Consignment ID column, plus Invoice or Phone. The header row can be anywhere in the first 10 rows, and the columns can be in any order.
  • Columns it reads when they are there: tracking code, customer name, phone, address, COD amount, delivery charge, status, approval status, booking date, delivery time and note. Common names work, such as "Recipient Phone", "Customer Name", "COD Amount" or "Created At".
  • Never doubled. A parcel that is already here is updated with the details in the file. A newer status from the live updates is kept.
  • Rows skipped: rows with no consignment ID. For Steadfast the ID must be digits only; for other couriers letters, digits, "-" and "_".
  • Big files: up to 20 MB. A large .xlsx or CSV file is read row by row, so a long history works. For a very large list, use .xlsx or CSV rather than the older .xls.
  • Dates in the file are read as Bangladesh time, the time the courier panels show.
  • Pages: each parcel is put on its sales page by the letters at the start of its invoice, the same as live parcels.

When to use it: to bring in old parcels from before you connected the courier, and for a courier with no live connection (such as CarryBee), whose parcels only come in this way.

Common problems

  • "Could not find the columns. The file needs at least a "Consignment ID" column and "Invoice" or "Phone"." Open the file and check the header names, then import again.
  • Many rows skipped. Check that you picked the right courier. A Pathao file imported as Steadfast skips IDs with letters in them.
  • Parcels landed under "Not matched". Link their invoice codes to a page.
