Go to Admin › Administration › Settings › Email (SMTP), fill in the mail server details your email provider gives you, set the Admin Email where your shop's alerts should arrive, and press Update.
Where to find it
Admin › Administration › Settings › Email (SMTP) (প্রশাসন › সেটিং). The page opens with the heading "SMTP Settings".
Only the store owner (Super Admin) can open it: email (SMTP) is part of Website keys, domain & tracking (owner).
Step by step
- Ask your email provider (or check its help pages) for its SMTP details: server name, port and encryption.
- Open Email (SMTP).
- Mail Host: the server name, for example
smtp.yourprovider.com. - Mail Encryption: choose TLS or SSL, as your provider says.
- Mail Port: the number that goes with it (often 587 for TLS or 465 for SSL).
- Mail From Address: the address customers see the email coming from, for example
orders@rangdhanufashion.com. - Mail From Name: your shop name, for example "Rangdhanu Fashion".
- Email: the login of that email account (usually the full email address).
- Password: the password of that email account.
- Admin Email: where you want to receive new-order and contact-form emails.
- Press Update. You will see "Email settings saved for your store".
Good to know
- Your server sends your shop's emails. Once every box is filled in, including a saved Password and a valid Mail From Address, new-order and Contact us emails go out through your own mail server, from your Mail From Address and Mail From Name. Until then they go out through the eCommerce Autopilot mailer. Password-reset emails always come from eCommerce Autopilot.
- Admin Email gets your alerts. When a customer places an order on your shop, or sends the Contact us form, the email goes to the Admin Email. If you leave it empty, it goes to the store owner's email.
- Your details are your store's own. They are saved for your store only, kept encrypted, and never mixed with another store's.
- The password is never shown again. After saving, the box shows "saved — leave empty to keep it". Leave it empty when you change other boxes; type a new one only when the password changes.
- Every box except Password is required. The page will not save with an empty box.
- Port and encryption must match. A TLS port with SSL chosen (or the other way round) is the most common mistake.
- Gmail works too, with an App password. See the Gmail answer below.
Common problems
- The page will not save. A box is empty. Fill every box except Password and press Update again.
- No order emails arrive. Check the Admin Email for typing mistakes, and look in your spam folder. If you set up your own server, a wrong host, port, email or password stops the emails, so check those details with your provider. Mark the first email "Not spam" so the next ones reach your inbox.
- A staff member cannot open Email (SMTP). That is expected: only the store owner sets up the email account.
