A deleted order is not gone at once: it moves to the trash. Open Trashed Orders from the Website orders list to bring it back with Restore, or to delete it for good.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Website orders. The bin icon is in each order's Action column, and the Trashed Orders button is above the list. The store owner can always delete and restore. Staff need the Delete & restore orders tick in Users & logins (the Admin role has it; a Manager or Store Manager can be given it).
Step by step
Delete one order
- Find the order in Admin › Online store › Website orders.
- Click the bin icon in its Action column.
- Answer "Are you sure?" with Yes, do it!
Delete many orders
- Tick the orders.
- Press Delete All. There is no second question, so check your ticks first.
Get an order back
- On the Website orders list, press Trashed Orders.
- Find the order in the "Trashed Order List".
- Click the restore icon (Restore) in its Action column. The order goes back to its list with the status it had.
Good to know
- Stock goes back when you delete, and is taken out again when you restore.
- Payments do not come back. Payments entered on the order are removed when it is deleted, and restoring the order does not bring them back. Enter them again if needed.
- Delete for good: the bin icon in the Trashed Order List deletes the order permanently, at once, with no question. It cannot be undone.
- Each store sees only its own trash.
Common problems
- No bin icon on the orders. Your login does not have the Delete & restore orders tick. Ask the owner.
- No Delete All button. At the moment it shows for the owner and for staff who also have the Products & stock tick.
- Trashed Orders says "You do not have access to: Delete & restore orders". The trash needs that tick. Ask the owner.
