The Job / role you pick on a staff profile is the same role their admin login uses. When the profile has a login, saving the profile gives that login the role and ticks the features the role needs. Your own owner login is never changed from here.
Where to find it
Admin › ERP › HR Department › Staff › open a person › Edit. The role is under Job / role; the login is under Admin login on the right.
The store owner and the Admin can open staff profiles, pick the role and make the login. The Admin cannot pick Admin, and cannot change the role, login or password of an Admin's profile — only the owner can.
How it works
- Pick a role. The list holds every role except Super Admin: Admin, Manager, Production Manager, Marketing Manager, Supervisor, Store Manager, Courier Manager, Moderator, Seller, Cutting Man, Sewing Operator, QC Man, Helper and Data Entry Man. Only the Super Admin can pick Admin. A short line under the box says what the role does.
- No login yet? The role is kept on the profile. The Staff list shows it with · no login. It is used later when you make the login.
- Link or make the login. Under Admin login, choose a login the person already has, or tick Make an admin login for them now and type a login name and password.
- Save. The login now has that role, and the features the role needs are ticked.
Example: at Rangdhanu Fashion, a new worker's profile says Sewing Operator. The owner ticks Make an admin login for them now and saves. The worker signs in and sees Submit work, their factory work, Mistakes & fines, My attendance, My salary and My tasks.
Good to know
- Same role, same ticks. If you save the profile without changing the role, the extra ticks you gave on Users & logins stay.
- A new role resets the ticks. When you change the role, the login gets exactly what the new role needs. Add any extras again on Users & logins — the What they may use › link on the profile takes you there.
- The owner is left alone. If the profile is linked to the owner's login, its role and password are never changed from the staff page.
- Linking also opens their own pages. Once a login is linked to a profile, the person sees My attendance and My salary.
- Passwords are shown once. When you make a login or give a new password here, it is shown one time on the profile page. Note it then.
- An old typed job shows as "(old — pick a role)". Pick a role so the login gets the right access.
Common problems
- The person signs in but sees almost nothing. The profile has no role. Pick one under Job / role and save.
- Extra access disappeared. The role was changed, so the ticks were reset. Add the extra features again on Users & logins.
