How do I add Google Analytics, Tag Manager and Search Console?

You only type the IDs — your shop adds Google's codes to every page by itself. Open Google Analytics & Tag Manager, fill in what you use and press Save.

Where to find it

Admin › Online store › Tracking & codes › Google Analytics & Tag Manager (ট্র্যাকিং ও কোড)

Only the store owner (Super Admin) can open it: its tick, Website keys, domain & tracking (owner), does not open it for staff, not even for an Admin.

Step by step

  1. GA4 Measurement ID. In Google Analytics open Admin › Data streams › your website and copy the ID that looks like G-XXXXXXXXXX. Product views, add to cart, checkout and purchases go there by themselves (see Which GA4 events does my shop send?).
  2. Purchases from the server (optional, recommended). In the same data stream open Measurement Protocol API secrets › Create, copy the secret and paste it in Measurement Protocol API secret. Tick Send purchases to GA4 from the server too.
  3. Google Tag Manager. Type only your Container ID (GTM-XXXXXXX). The shop adds both Tag Manager codes — in the head and right after the body.
  4. Google Search Console. Paste the HTML tag Google gives (<meta name="google-site-verification" …>) or only the code inside content="…" in Verification code.
  5. Press Save. Then press Check the connection on the right: Google checks a test purchase (it is not counted).

How it works

  • The data layer is always on. Every shop page puts its events (view_item, add_to_cart, begin_checkout, purchase…) in the dataLayer as GA4 e-commerce events, even before you add any Google ID. In Tag Manager you can use them straight away.
  • Purchases from the server. When an order is placed, our server also sends the purchase to GA4. If the buyer blocks Google or closes the page before it loads, the sale is still counted. GA4 counts one purchase per order number, so a sale sent from both the browser and the server is counted once.
  • Your settings are your store's own. Nothing is shared with other stores, and the API secret is kept encrypted.

Advanced

At the bottom, Advanced: your own Google codes and the Analytics report key keeps the old boxes: your own Google Analytics code, your own Tag Manager code, and the Google Analytics Property ID + key file (JSON) that show visitor numbers on the dashboard (see how). You do not need the code boxes when the IDs above are set.

Good to know

  • Use one way to add Analytics. If your Tag Manager container already has a GA4 tag, leave GA4 Measurement ID empty, or each visit is counted twice.
  • Google sign-in for customers. The same page has a card for your own Google keys for Continue with Google. See How do customers sign up and sign in on my shop?.
