Once your shop has a GA4 Measurement ID, it sends Google Analytics 4 the standard shopping events: a product seen, a list seen, add to cart, checkout steps and the purchase. You do not add any code yourself. GA4's ecommerce reports then fill in.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Tracking & codes › Google Analytics & Tag Manager (গুগল কোড), box GA4 Measurement ID (GA4 মেজারমেন্ট আইডি).
Only the store's Super Admin can save it. It belongs to Website keys, domain & tracking (owner), which never opens for staff, even when ticked.
Step by step
- In Google Analytics, open Admin › Data streams, pick your web stream and copy the Measurement ID (it starts with
G-). - In your panel, open Google Analytics & Tag Manager.
- Paste it in GA4 Measurement ID, for example
G-ABC123XYZ. - Press Save next to the box. You see "GA4 Measurement ID saved".
How it works
| Event | When it is sent |
|---|---|
| view_item | A product page opens |
| view_item_list | A category, brand or all-products page opens |
| select_item | Someone clicks a product in that list |
| add_to_cart / remove_from_cart | A product is added to or taken out of the cart |
| view_cart | The cart opens |
| begin_checkout | The checkout page opens |
| add_shipping_info | A delivery option is picked on checkout |
| add_payment_info | A payment method is picked on checkout |
| purchase | The thank-you page after an order, once per order |
Each item carries the product id, name, price, quantity, category, brand and size / colour. The purchase carries the invoice number, total and delivery charge.
Good to know
- Empty box is fine. If you leave GA4 Measurement ID empty, the ID inside your own Google Analytics code (under Advanced) is used. Without any Google ID the events still go to the data layer, so Google Tag Manager can use them.
- Tag Manager only? Without a GA4 ID or Analytics code, the events go into Tag Manager's data layer, ready for your own GA4 tags.
- Matches Facebook. The product id is the same one your Facebook Pixel gets. Add to cart carries the same event id your Facebook Pixel and Conversions API got, and so does the purchase when Facebook received it.
- Only on the shop. Nothing is sent from your admin panel.
- Only your ID. Each store's events go to its own GA4 property.
Common problems
- "A GA4 Measurement ID looks like G-ABC123XYZ." You pasted a different number (for example the numeric property ID). Copy the ID that starts with
G-. - Purchases counted twice. If your Tag Manager also sends a GA4 purchase tag, turn that tag off; the shop already sends it.
- No events in GA4 yet. Check GA4's realtime or DebugView after opening a product on your shop; standard reports take longer.
