Make a WhatsApp template at Meta with a photo, video or document header, wait for approval, then fetch it into the panel. When you pick that template in a new campaign, a file box appears: add your photo, video or PDF, and it goes on top of the offer to every customer.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Marketing channels › WhatsApp marketing opens the WhatsApp campaigns page. It opens for the Super Admin, the Admin and the Marketing Manager, on a Premium or Custom package.
Step by step
- Make the template at Meta. In Meta's WhatsApp Manager, create a template and choose an image, video or document header. Write the text and wait until Meta approves it.
- Fetch it. On the WhatsApp campaigns page, in box 1. Templates from WhatsApp, press Fetch templates. (Save the WhatsApp Business Account id next to your number first if it is empty.)
- Start a campaign. In box 2. New campaign, write a name, such as "Winter collection", and pick the WhatsApp number.
- Pick the template. Its text shows below. A box called Photo on top of the offer, Video on top of the offer or PDF with the offer appears.
- Add the file. Choose the photo, video or PDF from your phone or computer.
- Fill the blanks if the template has {{1}}, {{2}}… Use {name} for the customer's name.
- Choose who gets it and press Make the campaign.
- Check the campaign's page, then press Start.
Good to know
- Which files: photo jpg or png up to 5 MB, video mp4 up to 16 MB, document pdf. The panel takes files up to 16 MB.
- The file must match the template. A photo template takes only a photo, a video template only an mp4, a document template only a PDF.
- One file for the whole campaign. Every customer gets the same photo, video or PDF.
- The PDF keeps its name. Customers see the file name you uploaded, so name it well, such as "Rangdhanu-Eid-catalogue.pdf".
- Your file stays in your store's own folder, and WhatsApp fetches it from there when it sends.
- Only approved templates are offered in the list.
Common problems
- "This template shows a image on top: add the image (jpg / jpeg / png)." The template needs a file and none was added, or it was the wrong kind. Add the right file. Videos and documents give the same message with their own kinds.
- "WhatsApp takes a photo of at most 5 MB." Make the photo smaller and add it again.
- No file box appears. The template you picked has no photo, video or document header. Make one at Meta with a media header and fetch the templates again.
