What is Tracking & codes, and do I need Stape for server-side tracking?

No, you do not need Stape. On WordPress or Shopify, server-side tracking usually needs a paid app or a tracking server such as Stape every month. In eCommerce Autopilot our own server sends the events, at no extra cost. You only add your IDs and keys.

Where to find it

Admin › Online store › Tracking & codes (ট্র্যাকিং ও কোড). Only the store owner (Super Admin) sees this group.

Page What it does
Tracking overview Every channel with ON / Not set, and how many server events went out in the last 7 days
Facebook Pixel & CAPI Pixel in the browser + Conversions API from the server, and the Facebook catalog product feed (set up)
TikTok Pixel & Events API Pixel in the browser + Events API from the server (set up)
Google Analytics & Tag Manager GA4 (+ purchases from the server), Tag Manager, Search Console (set up)
Google Ads conversions Sales from your Google ads, with enhanced conversions (set up)
Other tracking codes Any other code, such as Hotjar or Microsoft Clarity (how)

How it works

  1. The data layer is always on. Every page of your shop puts its steps — product view, add to cart, checkout, purchase — in the dataLayer. Each platform you switch on reads the same events.
  2. Browser and server together. Facebook, TikTok and Google Analytics get the event from the visitor's browser and from our server. Both carry the same event id or order number, so each sale is counted once.
  3. Nothing is lost. If an ad blocker stops the browser, or the buyer closes the page, the server's copy still arrives. A failed send is tried again by itself.
  4. Only real sales. Cancelled, fake and returned orders are never sent. For cash on delivery you can choose to count a sale only when it is confirmed or delivered (Facebook and TikTok).

Good to know

  • Every key and token is your store's own and kept encrypted; staff never see them.
  • You can still use Google Tag Manager for anything else — the shop's events are already in its data layer.
