How do I mark and review fake orders?

To mark a fake order, change its status to Fake. All fake orders are then listed in Admin › Administration › Security › Fake orders. If the same person keeps doing it, block their phone number or IP address.

Where to find it

Admin › Administration › Security › Fake orders

It is the order list filtered to the Fake status. It sits under Security (not under Website orders) so the Website orders group stays short. The page belongs to the Website orders feature. The block lists need the Block IPs & phone numbers feature.

Step by step

Mark one order as fake

  1. Open Admin › Online store › Website orders and find the order.
  2. Click the order's status badge (for example "pending").
  3. In Status, choose Fake and press Update.

Mark many at once

  1. Tick the orders in the list.
  2. Press Status Change, choose Fake and press Submit.

Block the person

  1. Go to Admin › Administration › Security › Blocked phone numbers.
  2. Write the number in Mobile Number, add a Reason (for example "3 fake orders") and press Submit.
  3. To block an IP address too, open the order's edit page: the table of orders from the same number shows each one's IP Address. Add it in Admin › Administration › Security › Blocked IP addresses.

Good to know

  • Stock comes back. When you change one order from a live status to Fake, its goods go back to stock. If you later change it back to a live status, they are taken out again.
  • Not a sale. A fake order never counts as a Facebook Purchase.
  • What a blocked person sees: when they try to order on your shop or a landing page, they get "Sorry, we cannot take this order. Please call the shop." Their cart is not even kept as an incomplete order.
  • Check before you call. The badge next to each phone number shows the customer's delivery record from couriers, which helps you spot risky orders early.
  • Fake or cancelled? Use Cancelled when a real customer changed their mind. Keep Fake for orders nobody meant to receive, so the list stays useful.

Common problems

  • You do not see Fake orders under Security. Your login does not include website orders. Ask the owner to add Website orders in Users & logins.
  • A blocked number still orders. Check the number was typed correctly. Numbers are compared as 01XXXXXXXXX, so +880 or spaces do not matter.
