A domain can belong to only one store on eCommerce Autopilot. You see "That domain is already used by another store." when another store has already added the domain you typed, with or without www. Remove it from that store first, or write to the eCommerce Autopilot team if the domain is yours and you do not know that store.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Store design › Custom domain (অনলাইন স্টোর › স্টোর ডিজাইন › নিজের ডোমেইন), in the Your own domain box, after you press Add domain.
How it works
When you press Add domain, the panel checks two addresses: the domain you typed and the same domain with www in front. It refuses the domain if either one:
- Belongs to another store. "That domain is already used by another store."
- Is an eCommerce Autopilot address. Anything ending in ecommerceautopilot.com is refused with "That is an eCommerce Autopilot address — use your own domain (for example yourshop.com)." Your free address already works; it is not added again as your own domain.
- Is one of the platform's own addresses. "That domain cannot be used."
Example: Rangdhanu Fashion once made a test store and added rangdhanufashion.com there. Now its real store cannot add the same domain until the test store removes it.
Good to know
- Write the domain only. Type rangdhanufashion.com, not a full web link. If the panel cannot read it, it says "Write just the domain, for example yourshop.com".
- www is added for you. Do not add both. The panel strips a www you type and adds both forms itself.
- Already on your own store. If your store already has the domain, you see "… is already added." instead. That is a different message.
- Up to 10 domains. A store can have up to 10 own domains. At 10 you see "A store can have up to 10 own domains. Remove one to add another."
- Package. On Start Free you see "Your own domain is not available on the free package." Choose a paid package that includes your own domain in Package & billing.
Common problems
- The other store is yours. Sign in to that store, open Custom domain and press Remove. Then add the domain in the store you want.
- You own the domain, but you do not know the other store. Write to the eCommerce Autopilot team (for example with Give Feedback at the bottom of any admin page) and explain.
- A sub-domain like shop.yourshop.com is refused. Check that it does not end in ecommerceautopilot.com and that no other store has it.
