Some customers send a video of what they want. The seller puts it on the order in one of three ways: upload it straight from the phone, paste a link to it, or just tick Video included and send it on WhatsApp when the factory asks. The factory then plays it on the order.
Where to find it
- When entering the order: Admin › ERP › Sales Department › Seller orders › New order (a seller: My Orders › New order), under Customer's photos.
- Later: open the order. The Video box is on the right side of the order page, and it works even after the order is booked with the courier.
Step by step
Upload from the phone (best).
- In the order form, under Or upload the video from the phone, press the file box.
- On a phone, pick the video from the gallery (or record one). You can choose up to 2.
- Press Submit Order. A bar shows the upload, for example "Uploading the video… 45% (12.0 / 26.5 MB)". Wait for it to finish.
On an order that is already saved, choose the video in the Video box and press Upload.
Paste a link. If the video is on Google Drive, YouTube, Facebook or WhatsApp, paste its link in Video link and press Save link (or Submit Order on the form). The link must start with https:// or http://.
Only tick it. If you have the video but cannot upload it now, tick 🎥 Video included. The factory sees that a video exists and can ask you for it.
How it works
- The 🎥 Video mark shows on the order in the order list and on the factory's search results, so everyone knows there is a video.
- On the order the uploaded video plays right there, with its name, size, Download and (for the seller and the office) remove. A link shows as an Open video button.
- Ask seller for the video. When an order is ticked but has no link and no upload, the factory sees "The customer sent a video — the seller has it" and an Ask seller for the video button. It sends the seller a note asking for it on WhatsApp. It then says "Asked the seller — waiting for the video". Once the seller uploads it or pastes a link, the request is marked done by itself.
Example: at Rangdhanu Fashion a customer sends a 30-second video of a dress on WhatsApp. The seller enters the order on her phone, picks the video from the gallery and submits. In the factory, the sewing operator opens the order, plays the video and sees how the skirt should fall.
Who can use it
| Who | What they can do |
|---|---|
| The seller (own pages) | Tick it, paste a link, upload, remove |
| Sales office (Super Admin, Admin, Manager, Marketing Manager) | The same, on every page's orders; Super Admin, Admin and Manager can also ask the seller for it |
| Factory workers, Production Manager | Watch, download, Ask seller for the video |
| Others who may open the order | Watch and download |
Good to know
- Up to 2 videos per order, each up to 50 MB unless the store owner changed the limit.
- Formats: mp4, mov, 3gp and webm, the usual phone formats. The video is kept as it was sent, not converted.
- Uploaded videos are removed 30 days after the order is delivered or cancelled (the owner can change this). Links are kept.
- Private to your store. Only people who may open the order can play it.
Common problems
- "Video too large (max 50 MB) — paste a link or send it on WhatsApp." Upload it to Google Drive and paste the link instead, or send it on WhatsApp when the factory asks.
- "Only a video (mp4, mov, 3gp, webm)." The chosen file is not a video.
- "Network problem — try again …" The phone lost its connection during the upload. Try again on Wi-Fi.
- "Up to 2 videos on one order." Remove one first, or use a link.
