Advance taken? is a question the panel asks when someone presses Send to Courier on a risky customer's order. You either write the advance the customer paid, which then comes off the cash to collect, or you send the order without an advance. If you send it without one, your name is noted on the order.
Where to find it
It pops up on Admin › ERP › Sales Department › Seller orders (a seller's My Orders), on the list or on an order's own page, when you press Send to Courier. Whoever may send orders to the courier sees it.
How it works
- The customer fraud check gives each phone number a level from its delivery record. High risk and Danger count as risky.
- A risky customer's order gets a red mark on the list, with the label (for example "⚠ High risk").
- When you press Send to Courier, a red box asks Advance taken? and shows how many of the customer's parcels were received.
- You have three choices:
- Write the amount in Advance taken ৳ and press Yes — advance taken, send.
- Press No advance — send anyway.
- Press Not now to close it and send nothing.
Example: an order of ৳2,400 for a High risk customer. The seller takes ৳200 by bKash and writes 200. The order is booked with ৳2,200 to collect, and the order shows "Advance: ৳200".
Good to know
- An order that already has an advance written on it is sent without the question.
- The advance cannot be more than the order's price.
- After No advance — send anyway, the order page says "Sent without advance by" and the person's name. The list shows "sent without advance".
- Send selected to Courier does not ask the question. It skips risky orders with no advance, so send those one by one.
- The question comes only while the customer fraud check is on and its "Advance taken?" switch is on. Both are on for a new store.
Common problems
- The question never appears. The fraud check or its "Advance taken?" switch is off. The owner can turn them on in Admin › Administration › Security › Customer fraud check.
- The box says "Write the advance taken." You pressed Yes with an empty or zero amount. Write the amount, or choose No advance — send anyway.
