Go to Admin › Online store › Marketing & SEO › SEO settings, fill in the home page's SEO title and Meta description, and press Save. A small Google preview above the boxes shows how your home page can look in search results.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Marketing & SEO › SEO settings (মার্কেটিং ও SEO › এসইও সেটিংস). The page itself is headed SEO.
The store owner can always use it. Staff need the Website design access on their login. The Owner only box at the bottom shows for the store's Super Admin only.
Step by step
- Open SEO settings. The first box is Home page.
- In SEO title, write your shop name and what you sell, for example "Rangdhanu Fashion – Three-piece, Kurti and Saree Online in Bangladesh". The counter shows the length out of 60.
- In Meta description, write one or two sentences that make people want to click, for example "Cotton three-piece and kurti for every day. Cash on delivery all over Bangladesh, easy exchange." The counter shows the length out of 155.
- Meta keywords is optional.
- Optional: Home page H1 (the main heading of your home page for Google with the Default theme, kept in the page but not shown to shoppers; empty = your shop name) and Home page intro text.
- Optional: upload a Default share image (1200 × 630 works best).
- Press Save. You see "SEO settings saved".
How it works
| Box | Where it is used |
|---|---|
| SEO title | The browser tab and search title of your home page (empty = your shop name) |
| Meta description | The home page's description, and the description of any page that has none of its own |
| Meta keywords | Added to pages that have no keywords of their own |
| Default share image | The picture of a shared link when the page has no picture of its own (empty = your logo) |
Products and categories set their own title: a product without its own SEO title shows its name followed by "Price in Bangladesh" and your shop name, and a category shows its name followed by "Buy online in Bangladesh" and your shop name.
The Sitemap and robots.txt links next to Save open your shop's own files on your own domain.
Good to know
- Owner only box. The Super Admin can paste the Bing verification code and turn on Hide the whole store from Google. That switch puts "noindex" on every page and closes the whole site in robots.txt, so use it only while the shop is not ready.
- Google Merchant Center feed. The same page has the switch Feed is on for your product feed (off by default; press Save after turning it on). See How do I give Google Merchant Center a product feed?.
- AI assistant. The Super Admin adds the SEO assistant's own AI key in the AI assistant card (kept encrypted, shown masked). See How does the SEO assistant write titles and descriptions with AI?.
- Keep the title short. About 60 characters, so it is not cut off in search results.
- Write for people, not for robots. Google does not use Meta keywords; the title and description matter more.
- Products have their own SEO section. Fill in SEO (Google) on your best-selling products too.
- Changes are not instant on Google. Google reads your pages again in its own time; the new title can take days to show there.
Common problems
- Google still shows the old title. Wait for Google to visit your site again. If you use Search Console, you can ask it to re-check your home page.
- A yellow note says the store is hidden from Google. The Hide the whole store from Google switch is on. Ask the store owner to turn it off and press Save.
- Pressing Save is refused. Your login needs the Website design access; ask the owner.
