How do I give Google Merchant Center a product feed?

Open SEO settings, switch on Feed is on in the Google Merchant Center feed card and press Save. Copy the address that appears and add it in Google Merchant Center as a scheduled feed. Google then reads your products, prices, stock and delivery charges from it.

Where to find it

Admin › Online store › Marketing & SEO › SEO settings, card Google Merchant Center feed (গুগল মার্চেন্ট সেন্টার ফিড).

The store owner can always use it. Staff need the Website design tick.

Step by step

  1. Open SEO settings.
  2. In Google Merchant Center feed, switch on Feed is on.
  3. Press Save at the bottom of the page.
  4. An address appears under the switch, like https://rangdhanufashion.com/feeds/google-merchant.xml. Press Copy.
  5. In Google Merchant Center, go to Products › Feeds, add a new feed and paste this address as the place Google fetches it from.

How it works

The feed is your shop's own list, on your own domain. It has one item per product (not one per size or colour), because each product has one page and one price. Each item carries:

  • the product's id, name, text, page address and main photo, plus up to 10 more photos;
  • in stock or out of stock, and condition "new";
  • the price the product page shows; with a real discount, the regular price and the sale price;
  • the product's brand, or your shop's name when it has none;
  • its category and sub-category;
  • your delivery charges that are on, for Bangladesh (a free-shipping product shows 0).

Good to know

  • Off by default. While the switch is off, the address opens "not found" (404).
  • Left out: products hidden in the shop, products set to Hide from Google, and products with no photo or no price. Merchant Center needs both.
  • Kept up to date. The feed is rebuilt after a product, category or brand is saved.
  • Only your products. Each store's feed lists only its own products and its own delivery charges.
  • Turning it on or off is recorded in the SEO history.

Common problems

  • Merchant Center says the address is not found. The switch is off, or you did not press Save. Turn it on and save.
  • A product is missing from the feed. Check it is shown in the shop, is not hidden from Google, and has a photo and a price.
  • Wrong delivery price in Google. Check your active delivery charges.
