How do I send a test SMS?

Open Admin › Administration › Settings › SMS, type your own mobile number in the Send a test SMS box on the right, and press Send. The page tells you Sent or Not sent, followed by the SMS company's answer.

Where to find it

Admin › Administration › Settings › SMS (প্রশাসন › সেটিং), the Send a test SMS box. Only the store owner (and anyone made Super Admin) can open this page.

Step by step

Connect your SMS account first: tick Send SMS, choose your company, fill in its boxes and press Save.
Check the status says SMS is on. Until then the Send button stays grey, with the note "Save your account with "Send SMS" ticked first."
In Send a test SMS, type your number as 01XXXXXXXXX.
Press Send.
Read the message at the top of the page.
Check your phone. The SMS says "Test SMS from" followed by your shop's name.

What the answer means

"Sent. Answer from the SMS company: …" — the SMS company's server accepted the message. The text after it is exactly what they replied.
"Not sent. Answer from the SMS company: …" — the company refused it, or could not be reached. Their reply usually says why (wrong key, no balance, sender ID not approved).
"SMS is off or the account is not filled in" — Send SMS is not ticked, or a box of your company is empty.
"No valid number" — the number is too short. Type all 11 digits.

Below the box, Last SMS shows the time, the number, sent or not sent, and the company's answer for the last SMS your shop sent — a test or a real one. Look here when a customer says they got no message.

Good to know

"Sent" is not the same as "delivered". Some companies answer politely even when there is a problem, so read their reply. If it mentions an error or a code, ask the SMS company what it means.
Each test uses your SMS balance, like any other SMS.
Up to 10 tests a minute. If you press Send more often, wait a minute and try again.

Common problems

Sent, but nothing arrives on my phone. Check your balance with the SMS company, and ask whether your sender ID is approved. Some companies hold messages until it is.
Not sent with a message about the key or token. Copy the key again from your SMS company's panel, paste it into the right box, press Save, and test again.
The Send button is grey. SMS is off. Tick Send SMS, fill every box and press Save first.
