The weight is set on each order, not on the product. The Item Weight box on the order tells Pathao and RedX how heavy the parcel is when you book it. If you leave it as it is, 0.5 kg is sent.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Website orders › All orders, then open the order's edit page. Item Weight is under the heading "These fields only for Pathao Courier Service", but RedX uses it too. The same box is on the form for a new order you enter yourself.
You need the Website orders feature. The store owner always has it.
Step by step
- Pack the order and weigh it, or work it out from what is inside.
- Open the order's edit page.
- Type the weight in Item Weight, in kilograms. For example, two three-piece sets in one parcel might be 1 or 1.5.
- Press Update.
- Book the parcel with Pathao or RedX as usual.
How it works
- The unit is kilograms. The box goes up in steps of 0.5, from 0.5 to 10.
- Pathao gets the weight in kilograms with the booking.
- RedX gets the same weight turned into grams (1.5 kg is sent as 1500).
- No weight on the order means 0.5 kg is sent.
- Steadfast bookings from the panel do not send a weight.
Example: Rangdhanu Fashion sells a single saree (0.5 kg is fine) and a family bundle of four panjabis. For the bundle, they set Item Weight to 2 before booking with Pathao.
Good to know
- Set the weight before you book. The weight goes with the booking. Changing the box after the parcel is booked does not change it at the courier; change it in your courier account instead.
- Heavier items need attention. Light clothes are often fine at 0.5 kg. Shoes, bags, bedsheets and bundles are heavier, so check them.
- Many orders at once. When you tick website orders and send them to Pathao or RedX together, each one goes with its own Item Weight.
Common problems
- The courier booked a parcel at 0.5 kg. The order had no weight, or 0.5 was left in the box. Set Item Weight on the next orders before booking.
- You cannot type 0.3 or 0.7. The box moves in steps of 0.5. Pick the nearest step.
