Under each product, the You Might Also Like row shows up to 8 other products from the same main category of your shop. Products in stock come first. There is nothing to switch on: you steer it with the product's Product Category and its priority.
Where to find it
On your shop, at the bottom of any product page. In the admin panel, the things that decide it are on the product form: Admin › Online store › Products › All products, then the edit icon (Product Category and priority). You need the Products & stock feature.
How it works
The shop picks products that:
- belong to your store only;
- have the same main Product Category as the product being viewed;
- are shown in the shop (hidden products never appear);
- are not the product itself.
Then it puts them in this order and keeps the first 8:
- In stock before out of stock.
- Lower priority number first (products with an empty priority after the numbered ones).
- Newest first.
The row is part of the page itself, so Google can follow the links too.
Category and brand links. Under the product name, the page also shows Category: with a link to its category page (the sub-category when the product has one) and Brand: with a link to its brand page, when a brand is picked.
Example: Rangdhanu Fashion's "Blue Cotton Panjabi" is in the Panjabi category. Its page suggests other panjabis: first the ones in stock with priority 1 and 2, then the newest. A saree never appears there.
Good to know
- No category, no row. A product without a Product Category shows no related products.
- The sub-category does not narrow it. Products from every sub-category of the same main category can appear.
- To push a product into the row, keep it in stock and give it a low priority number.
- View All at the top of the row opens your shop's full product list.
Common problems
- The row is empty. The product has no category, or it is the only shown product in its category.
- An out-of-stock product appears. There are fewer than 8 in-stock products in that category, so out-of-stock ones fill the rest.
