Staff who still have an older role (admin, worker, manager or moderator) keep the access that role gave them. Nothing changes for them until you edit and save them on the Users page. Saving moves them to the new role and tick boxes.
Where to find it
Admin › Administration › Users & access › Users & logins (ইউজার ও অ্যাক্সেস). In the Access column, these people show older role instead of a number of features.
How it works
- Before you edit them, they can open the same pages as before. Their access comes from the older role.
- When you open them with Edit / password, a yellow note says "Older role: … — saving moves this person to the new access below."
- When you press Save, the older role is taken away. From then on, they can use exactly what is ticked on the form, and nothing else.
Example: at "Rangdhanu Fashion", Rafi has the older worker role. The owner opens him, picks Moderator, checks the ticks and presses Save. Rafi now shows Moderator with a number of features, and the older role is gone.
Step by step
- Go to Users & logins and find someone with older role.
- Press Edit / password.
- Under Role, pick the job they really do. The form does not guess it from the older role.
- Look at the tick boxes. Add or remove what this person needs.
- Press Save.
Good to know
- Pick the role before you save. For a person with an older role, the form starts on Moderator with no boxes ticked. If you save without choosing, they get Moderator with nothing ticked and lose their pages.
- Older "worker" staff see only the orders given to them. New website orders are now shared out among active Moderators and Store Managers, so a worker gets no new orders. Move them to Moderator or Store Manager.
- You do not have to move everyone today. People you have not edited keep working as before.
- Only the access changes. Their name, login, password and work stay the same.
Common problems
- A person lost pages after I saved them. The new role does not tick everything the older one gave. Edit them again and tick what they need.
- An older worker has no new orders. Move them to Moderator or Store Manager as above.
