How do I create a coupon code?

Go to Admin › Online store › Offers & discounts › Coupons. Fill in Coupon Code Create on the left (code, type, amount, minimum purchase, start and end date) and press Save. Then check that Coupon Manage under the list is On, so the coupon box shows at checkout.

Where to find it

Admin › Online store › Offers & discounts › Coupons. The page is called "Coupon Code Manage".

The store owner always sees it. For staff, coupons are part of the Offers feature; the Admin and Manager jobs have it by default.

Step by step

1. Open Coupons.
2. In Coupon Code, write the code customers will type, for example EID200.
3. Choose the Discount Type: Fixed (taka off) or Percentage (% off).
4. Type the Discount Amount, for example 200 (৳200 off) or 10 (10% off).
5. Optional: type a Minimum Purchase, for example 1500. Leave it empty for no minimum.
6. Choose Date Start and Date End.
7. Press Save. The coupon appears in the table on the right.
8. Under the table, set Coupon Manage to On and press Save.

Good to know

• Required: Coupon Code, Discount Type, Discount Amount, Date Start and Date End.
• Dates count whole days (Bangladesh time). A coupon from 1 to 7 works all day on the 1st and all day on the 7th.
• Percentage is worked out on the cart's products total, not on the delivery charge.
• The discount is never more than the cart total.
• Minimum Purchase is checked against the products in the cart (before the delivery charge), both when the code is applied and again when the order is placed.
• Coupon Manage is one switch for the whole shop. Off hides the coupon box at checkout for every coupon.
• Your store's coupons only. A code works only in the shop it was made in. Another store can use the same code for its own coupon.
• No limit on uses. A coupon can be used as many times as customers like while its dates run. Pick dates to end it.
• Edit or delete a coupon with the icons in its Action column.

Common problems

• Customers do not see a coupon box. Coupon Manage is Off. Set it to On and press Save.
• A customer gets "Not Found Any Coupon Discount!". The code is spelled differently, today is outside its dates, or the cart is below the minimum purchase.
• You want to stop a coupon now. Edit it and set Date End to yesterday, or delete it.
