Make your own Telegram bot with @BotFather, paste its token in Admin › Administration › Settings › Telegram alerts, press Start in the bot, then add your chat on the same page. After that your store sends its news and reports to that chat.
Where to find it
Admin › Administration › Settings › Telegram alerts. Only the store owner (Super Admin) sees it; its tick, ERP settings (owner), does not open it for staff. The page is part of ERP.
Step by step
- In Telegram, open @BotFather and send /newbot.
- Give the bot a name (for example "Rangdhanu Fashion ERP") and a username that ends in bot (for example rangdhanu_erp_bot).
- BotFather sends you a token that looks like
123456789:AAH…. Copy it. - In the panel, open Telegram alerts, paste the token into Bot token and press Save. Telegram checks the token straight away.
- The page now shows your bot as connected. Press Open it in Telegram → and press Start in the bot.
- Back on the page, press Find who pressed Start. Your name appears. Press Add next to it. The bot sends you a hello message.
- Choose the reports and alerts you want (see the related answers below) and press Save.
- Press Send today's summary now to check that messages arrive.
Good to know
- Several people can get the messages. Each one opens the bot and presses Start, then you press Find who pressed Start and Add each of them.
- A Telegram group works too. Add the bot to the group, send a message there, then find it and add it here.
- To stop sending to someone, press remove next to their chat.
- The token is saved encrypted and is not shown again. The box says "Saved — paste only to change it". Paste a new token only when you want to change the bot.
- Every store uses its own bot. Messages are written in Bangla.
- Telegram alerts is a package module. During the free trial it is open; after that it needs a package that includes Telegram alerts.
Common problems
- "That does not look like a bot token." Copy the whole token from BotFather, including the numbers before the colon.
- "Nobody yet." Open the bot in Telegram, press Start (or send "hi"), then press Find who pressed Start again.
- "The saved token does not work." Get a fresh token for your bot from @BotFather and paste it in Bot token.
- "Nothing sent — check the bot and the chats." No chat has been added yet, or Telegram did not take the message. Do steps 5 and 6 again.
- The page says "Telegram alerts is in the … package". Your trial has ended. Choose a package in Package & billing.
