How do I block a staff login?

Open Users & logins and press Block next to the person. They are signed out of the admin panel at their next click and cannot sign in again. Press Unblock to let them back in. Their orders and entries stay as they are.

Where to find it

Admin › Administration › Users & access › Users & logins (ইউজার ও অ্যাক্সেস). The store owner can block anyone except themselves. Someone given the Users & access tick can block other staff too, but not a Super Admin or an Admin: only the Super Admin changes an Admin.

Step by step

  1. Go to Users & logins.
  2. Find the person. You can type a name, login or email in the search box.
  3. Press Block in their row.
  4. A green message says the person "is blocked and signed out". Their row now shows Blocked in red.

Another way: press Edit / password, untick Can sign in (untick to block) and press Save.

To let them back in, press Unblock in the same row, or tick Can sign in again.

Good to know

  • They are signed out at once. If they had the panel open, the next page they open sends them back to the sign-in page with "This account is blocked. Ask the store owner."
  • Nothing is deleted. Their orders, chats, cashbook entries and history stay. Their role and tick boxes are kept, so Unblock gives back the same access.
  • See who is blocked. Choose Blocked only in the status filter on the list.
  • The owner can never be blocked, and you cannot block yourself.
  • Blocking does not free a staff login place in your package. To free a place, remove the person with the bin button instead. Removing keeps their orders and entries too.
  • Block or remove? Block when the person may come back or you are not sure yet. Remove when they have left for good.

Common problems

  • There is no Block button next to someone. That person is the owner, yourself, or a Super Admin you are not allowed to change.
  • A blocked person can still order on your website. Blocking closes the admin panel only. A staff member who is also a customer can still shop.
