Who can add and edit products?

The store owner can always add and edit products. A staff member can do it when the Products & stock feature is ticked on their login. The Admin and Manager jobs get it ticked by themselves; a Moderator can be given it.

Who can use it

Job (role) Products & stock
Super Admin (store owner) Always, everything
Admin Ticked by itself
Manager Ticked by itself
Marketing Manager Ticked by itself
Moderator, Production Manager Not ticked; fine to add
Store Manager, Courier Manager, Supervisor, Seller and factory jobs Not usually for this job

The tick is per person. You can add it to anyone, or take it away from an Admin or Manager, on their login.

What the feature opens

With Products & stock, a person can use everything under Admin › Online store › Products:

  • All products and Bulk edit: add, edit, clone and delete products;
  • Categories, Tags, Brands, Sizes, Colours and Fabrics;
  • product stock, Low stock alert, and product import and export.

Product reviews are a separate tick (Reviews), and so are discounts, coupons and combos (Offers).

Step by step: give someone access

  1. Go to Admin › Administration › Users & access › Users & logins.
  2. Open the person's login, or create a new one.
  3. Pick their job (role). The form ticks what that job needs.
  4. Tick Products & stock if it is not already ticked.
  5. Save.

Good to know

  • Deleting is included. Anyone with Products & stock can delete products, and deleting cannot be undone. Give it only to people you trust with your catalogue.
  • Only the Super Admin can give access they do not have themselves. A staff member who manages logins cannot hand out Products & stock unless they have it.
  • The product limit of your package applies to everyone, the owner too.
  • Package & billing stays with the owner, whatever is ticked.

Common problems

  • A staff member cannot see Products. Products & stock is not ticked on their login. Tick it in Users & logins.
  • "Only the Super Admin can give access you do not have yourself." Ask the store owner to tick it instead.
