After your password, the Two-step sign-in page says "That code is not right." Most often the phone's clock is a little off, or the code is from the wrong entry in the app. If the app cannot help, type one of your backup codes instead.
Where to find it
The code page opens by itself after the password, for everyone who has two-step sign-in on. The settings are at Admin › Administration › Security › Two-step sign-in (প্রশাসন › নিরাপত্তা › দুই-ধাপের লগইন). Super Admin, Admin and Manager see that link.
What to check, most common first
- The phone's clock. The 6-digit code changes every 30 seconds and depends on the time. The panel accepts the current code and the one just before or after it, nothing older. In your phone's settings, turn on automatic date and time, then type the newest code.
- The right entry in the app. The entry for your shop is named after the shop with "admin", for example "Rangdhanu Fashion admin", followed by your login name. If you have several shops or accounts in the app, check you are reading the right one.
- An old entry. If two-step sign-in was turned off and on again, a new QR code was made and the old entry stopped working. Delete the old entry in the app and keep the new one.
- The same code twice. Each code works once. If you just used it, wait for the next one.
- Too many tries. After 6 wrong codes you see "Too many wrong codes — wait … seconds." Wait, then try once with a fresh code.
Use a backup code
When the code page asks for the code, type one of the 8 backup codes you saved when you turned two-step on (they look like 4F7K-9Q2M). Small letters and a missing dash are fine. Each backup code works once. After signing in, make new codes with New backup codes if you have few left.
Good to know
- Trust this device for 30 days on the code page skips the code on that device for 30 days.
- Use another account on the code page signs you out, so you can sign in as someone else.
- Lost phone and no backup codes? The store owner opens Two-step sign-in, finds the person under For the office and presses Turn off (lost phone). The person signs in with the password only and sets it up again. If two-step is a must for their job, the panel asks them to set it up straight away.
- The owner cannot turn it off for their own login this way. Keep your backup codes somewhere safe, away from your phone.
