How do I run an SEO audit of my shop?

Open the Audit tab of the SEO overview and press Run audit now. The shop checks itself and lists every SEO problem it finds, grouped by type, with a link to fix each one. You do not have to remember it: the audit also runs by itself every week.

Admin › Online store › Marketing & SEO › SEO overview, tab Audit (অডিট).

The store owner can always use it. Staff need the Website design tick.

Step by step

1. Open SEO overview and press the Audit tab.
2. Press Run audit now (এখনই অডিট চালান).
3. Wait a few seconds. A message says "Audit done" with the number of issues.
4. Open a group, for example Broken internal links, to see its lines.
5. Press a line's name to open that product, category, blog post, page or redirect and fix it.
6. For product problems, press Fix in the bulk editor to fix many products in one table.

How it works

The audit reads your shop's own data; it does not open your site like a visitor. It checks:

• Products: missing SEO title or meta description, duplicates, thin text, photos without alt text, products without a photo.
• Categories without page text.
• Broken internal links in product, category, blog and page texts, for example a link to a product that no longer exists or is hidden. Links to other websites are not checked.
• Sitemap: hidden pages in the sitemap, and addresses that are not the page's own.
• Photos over 500 KB or without a WebP copy.
• Redirects: chains (one redirect leading to another) and redirects to a missing page.

Good to know

• Weekly run. Every Sunday at 04:10 the audit checks every page with no time limit.
• Once every 5 minutes. Run audit now can be pressed once per 5 minutes for your store.
• 20-second limit. A manual audit stops after about 20 seconds on a big shop and says "stopped at the time limit". The weekly run checks everything.
• Only the latest lines are kept. Each audit replaces the previous one's issue lines. Earlier audits shows the totals of past runs, so you can see progress.
• 50 lines per group are shown on screen; the count above them is exact.

Common problems

• "An audit ran a moment ago." Wait the minutes it shows, then press again.
• "An audit is running now." Someone else on your team started one. Open the tab again in a minute.
