How do I use the 404 log to fix broken links?

The 404 log is the list of your shop's addresses that people or Google opened but that do not exist. Press Redirect to… on a useful one, write the right page and press Save. From then on, visitors land on that page instead of "not found".

Where to find it

Admin › Online store › Marketing & SEO › Redirects, the Pages not found (404) box at the bottom (মার্কেটিং ও SEO › রিডাইরেক্ট).

It needs the Website design tick. The Admin role has it, and the store owner (Super Admin) always does.

Step by step

  1. Open Redirects and scroll to Pages not found (404).
  2. Look at Address, Hits and Last seen. When the shop knows where the visitor came from, a From: line shows the page or site that had the broken link.
  3. On an address that matters, press Redirect to…. The Add a redirect box at the top opens with that address filled in as Old address.
  4. In New address, write the right page, for example /category/kurti or /products/cotton-three-piece.
  5. Keep 301 · Permanent and press Save. The address leaves the 404 list by itself.

Good to know

  • Not every line needs a redirect. Typos and odd addresses can stay. Press × on a line to remove it, or Clear list to empty the whole list.
  • What is logged. Only normal page visits on your shop. The admin panel, files (pictures, .php, .js and so on) and common bot probes such as wp-admin are left out, and so is the home page.
  • Repeat visits. The same address is written at most once a minute, so Hits is a guide, not an exact count.
  • The list stays small. It keeps up to 500 addresses; when it is full, the oldest, least-visited ones make room. The screen shows the 50 seen most recently.
  • Each shop has its own list. Only addresses opened on your own domain appear, and only your team can see or clear them.

Common problems

  • The same address keeps coming back. Something still links to it. Check the From: line and fix the link there (an old Facebook post, a blog post), or add a redirect.
  • The list is empty. Good news: nobody hit a broken address since it was last cleared.
  • I redirected an address but it still shows "not found". Check the new address opens a page by itself.
