Tick the products on All products and press Hide to take them off your shop's lists, or Show to bring them back. Active (Recomm) and De-active (Recomm) turn the recommended mark on and off the same way.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Products › All products. The four buttons are at the top left of the list. The Visibility column shows Show or Hide, and Recommended shows yes or no.
You need the Products & stock feature. For Show and Hide, a staff member currently also needs the Website orders feature. The store owner can use all four buttons.
Step by step
- Go to Admin › Online store › Products › All products.
- Find the products. Use the search box, or pick a category in Select Category.
- Tick the box next to each product you want to change.
- Press the button you need:
- Hide to take them off the shop's lists.
- Show to bring them back.
- Active (Recomm) to mark them recommended.
- De-active (Recomm) to take the mark off.
- The page reloads. Check the Visibility or Recommended column.
How it works
- Hidden products are kept out of your shop's product lists, category pages, search results and the "related products" under other products.
- Nothing is deleted. The product, its photos, stock and past orders all stay. Press Show any time to bring it back.
- The product's own page shows "not found" to shoppers, unless you set Replaced by in its SEO (Google) section; then its link opens that product instead.
- Recommended products show in a Recommended for you section on the home page of the Default store theme: three rows at most (up to 15 products on a wide computer screen, 6 on a phone), with no Show more button. Hidden products are left out. The other store themes do not show this row, so there use a type such as Featured or Best Selling in Bulk edit to put products forward.
Example: Rangdhanu Fashion hides its winter shawls in March and presses Show again in November. The shawls keep their reviews and order history.
Good to know
- Hide instead of delete when a product may come back, or when it has orders you want to keep.
- Out of stock is different. If you only ran out, keep the product shown and let the stock show it as out of stock.
Common problems
- "Please Select A Product First !" Tick at least one product before pressing a button.
- Nothing happens when you press Show or Hide. Your login does not have Website orders. Ask the owner to add it in Users & logins.
