How do I prove I own my domain?

Add one TXT record at the company you bought your domain from. Its name is _ecap-verify. plus your domain, and its value is ecap-verify= plus a code made for your store. Then press Check now. Until this record is found, your shop does not open on the domain and no certificate is made.

Where to find it

Admin › Online store › Store design › Custom domain (অনলাইন স্টোর › স্টোর ডিজাইন › নিজের ডোমেইন). The page is called Your domain. Step 2 of How to connect your domain shows your exact TXT record after you add your domain. Only the store owner (Super Admin) sees it.

Step by step

Add your domain under Your own domain and press Add domain. Your store's code is made now.
Copy the Name and Value of the TXT record from step 2 on the page. For "rangdhanufashion.com" the name is _ecap-verify.rangdhanufashion.com and the value starts with ecap-verify=.
Open the DNS settings at your domain company and add a new record of type TXT with that name and value. If the panel adds your domain by itself, type only _ecap-verify as the name.
Save it, come back and press Check now.
When it is found, step 2 shows "✓ Found — your domain is proven." The status moves on from Waiting for the TXT record.

How it works

The code belongs to your store alone, so only the person who controls the domain's DNS can put it there. This stops another store from connecting a domain that is yours.

Only after the TXT record is found does the panel check the rest: the A records for @ and www, both pointing to the server IP shown on the page. When they are right, the secure certificate (https) is made.

Good to know

One record covers both. It sits on the main domain and proves www too.
One record for each domain. With several own domains, each has its own TXT record with its own value. The page lists them all; when every one is found it says "✓ Found — all your domains are proven."
You do not have to keep pressing Check now. The panel also looks by itself every 10 minutes.
Once found, it is not checked again.
Prove it within 7 days. A domain whose TXT record is not found within 7 days of adding it is removed by itself, so its name is free again for the real owner. Until then the page shows "Will be removed on … if not proven." and the dashboard shows the date too; if Telegram alerts are on, you also get one reminder 2 days before. Your free address keeps working, and you can add the domain again any time (with a new TXT value).
Domains that already worked (showing Working (https)) before this check was added count as proven. You need to do nothing.
Removing your domain and adding it again makes a new code. Change the TXT value to the new one.

Common problems

Visitors see "This domain is not connected yet". The TXT record is not found yet. Check the name and value, then press Check now.
The domain is gone from the page. It was not proven within 7 days, so it was removed. The page says when. Add it again and put the new TXT value at your domain company.
Still waiting after an hour. DNS changes can take up to a few hours. Check you did not add the domain twice in the name (_ecap-verify.rangdhanufashion.com.rangdhanufashion.com).
