Open the product, set User Can Upload Order Image to Yes and press Update. When that product is in the cart, the checkout shows a photo field where the customer can add up to 5 pictures. Your team sees them on the order's edit page, under Customer Image.
Where to find it
- The setting: Admin › Online store › Products › All products, then the product's edit icon. User Can Upload Order Image sits next to Manage Stock and Is Free Shipping. It is also on Add product. This needs the Products & stock feature.
- The photos: Admin › Online store › Website orders › All orders, then the order's edit page, in the Customer Image area. This needs the Website orders feature.
The store owner always has both.
Step by step
- Open the product with the edit icon in All products.
- Set User Can Upload Order Image to Yes.
- Press Update.
- Optional: in Short Description, tell customers what photo to add, for example "Add a photo of your design for printing".
- When the order comes in, open its edit page and look at Customer Image. Press a photo to open it full size.
How it works
- Only when a product asks. The photo field appears at checkout only if at least one product in the cart has the setting on. It reads "Add a photo for your order (optional): JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 4 MB each."
- Optional for the customer. They can order without a photo.
- Up to 5 photos. After choosing one picture, another field appears, up to 5 in all.
- JPG, PNG or WEBP, 4 MB each. Other files are refused.
- Kept private. Photos are stored in your store's own private folder, not on a public web address. Only your team, signed in to the panel, can open them.
Good to know
- Custom work needs a check. Printed or made-to-order items cannot go back on the shelf. Confirm the photo and the details with the customer before you start.
- Write what the photo is for in the order's Note ("print on front", "frame size A4"), so whoever packs it knows.
- Landing page order forms do not ask for photos. Ask those customers to send the picture in chat.
Common problems
- The checkout shows no photo field. No product in that cart has User Can Upload Order Image set to Yes.
- The Customer Image area says "No photo". The customer did not add one. Ask for it in chat.
