Press Export Excel, Export CSV or Export Shopify CSV at the top of All products. The file downloads at once and holds every product in your store.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Products › All products, the buttons at the top right next to Import.
You need the Products & stock feature. The store owner always has it.
Step by step
- Go to Admin › Online store › Products › All products.
- Press the button for the file you want:
- Export Excel downloads products.xlsx.
- Export CSV downloads products.csv.
- Export Shopify CSV downloads shopify-products.csv.
- Open the file in Excel or Google Sheets.
How it works
- Only your store. The file holds your own store's products, never another shop's.
- Every product. Shown and hidden products are both in the file, whatever search or category you picked on the page.
- Excel and CSV have the same columns as the import template: name, sku, slug, type, priority, category_id, prices, discount, stock, the yes/no marks (shown, recommended, free shipping, featured and so on), SEO fields and more. One row per product.
- Shopify CSV follows Shopify's product import layout. A product with sizes or colours gets one row per size/colour, with its price, compare-at price, cost and stock. It also carries the main photo's link, the category as "Main > Sub", tags, SEO title and description, and Active or Draft from your Show/Hide setting.
Good to know
- Keep a backup. Export once a month and keep the file safe. It is a quick record of your names, prices and SKUs.
- Find category numbers. The category_id column shows the number each category uses. You need these numbers when you fill an import file.
- Photos. The Excel and CSV files do not carry your photos. The Shopify CSV has links to the main photo and to size/colour photos.
Common problems
- Bangla names look broken in the CSV. Open the Excel (.xlsx) file instead, or open the CSV in Google Sheets.
- The file is empty apart from the header. Your store has no products yet.
