Your data deletion URL is your shop's own address followed by /data-deletion, for example https://rangdhanufashion.com/data-deletion. Paste it in your Meta app where Meta asks for a data deletion page. Meta asks for it from every app that reads Page and Instagram messages.
Where to find it
The page is already on your shop; nothing has to be made. Open it in a browser first to check your name, phone and email are right. In your Meta app (developers.facebook.com), the field is in the app's basic settings, next to the privacy policy URL.
Step by step
- Open
https://<your shop's address>/data-deletionand read it once. - If the phone or email is missing or wrong, fix them in Admin › Online store › Store design › Footer, Footer Section 6, and press Update.
- Open your Meta app at developers.facebook.com and go to its basic settings.
- Paste the address as the data deletion instructions URL.
- Add your privacy policy page too:
https://<your shop's address>/privacy-policy. - Save the changes in your Meta app.
Good to know
- Use your own domain. Each store has its own Meta app and its own page, so use the address your customers know, not anyone else's.
- The page lists your contacts. Customers who ask for deletion reach you there; answer them and delete their details within 30 days, as the page promises.
- Write your privacy policy. The privacy policy page shows what you wrote in Pages & blog › Pages › Privacy Policy; Meta may check it as well.
