How do I mark a chat Done?

When you have finished with a customer, open the chat and press Done. The chat stops waiting for an answer, moves to the Done tab, and you go straight back to the chat list for the next customer.

Where to find it

  • Computer: Admin › CRM › Inbox › Inbox, open a chat. Done is the dark button at the top, next to Inbox.
  • Phone: open the chat, tap ⋮ for Chat info, then tap Done in the row of tools.

The button shows for the seller who has the chat and for people with Inbox — every chat.

Step by step

  1. Open the chat in Admin › CRM › Inbox.
  2. Check the customer has nothing more to ask.
  3. If your store asks for a category, pick the chat's category first (see Good to know).
  4. Press Done.
  5. The inbox list opens with a short message, for example "Nasima Akter: Done."

Good to know

  • Done is a closing status, like Order confirmed and Order cancelled. A closed chat no longer waits for an answer, so the answer clock stops for it.
  • Open again. On a chat that is already closed, the same place shows Open again. It sets the chat back to In progress.
  • A new message opens it by itself. If the customer writes again, the chat comes back to the waiting list. See Why did a chat I marked Done come back?
  • Category first. In Admin › CRM › Inbox › Inbox settings, the tick "A chat can be closed (order confirmed / cancelled / completed) only with a category" makes the category a must. Without one, the panel says "Choose the category first — a chat is closed only with a category."
  • Many at once. To close several chats together, tick them in the list and use Set status › Done. See How do I change many chats at once?

Common problems

  • There is no Done button. The chat is not yours and you do not have Inbox — every chat. Ask the office to move it to you, or to close it.
  • "Choose the category first". Set the category on the chat, then press Done again.
