Your main address is the one address your shop shows to shoppers and Google. To choose it, open Custom domain and press Make main next to the address you want. Shoppers who open any other address of your store are sent there.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Store design › Custom domain (অনলাইন স্টোর › স্টোর ডিজাইন › নিজের ডোমেইন). The page is called Your domain. Only the store owner (Super Admin) sees it.
At the top, a line shows ⭐ Main address: and the address that is main today.
Step by step
- Open Custom domain.
- Look at your addresses under Free address and Your own domain. The main one has a dark ⭐ Main label.
- Next to the address you want, press Make main.
- You see "rangdhanufashion.com is now your main address. Shoppers who open any other address of your store are sent there."
How it works
Until you choose, the main address is picked for you:
- your own domain, once it shows Working (https) (the first one you added, without www);
- otherwise your free yourname.ecommerceautopilot.com address.
Only an address that really works can be main. Your free address always can. An own domain can when its TXT record is found, it shows Working (https), and your package allows it (a paid package, or a domain bought through eCommerce Autopilot). That is why Make main shows only next to working addresses.
Example: "Rangdhanu Fashion" has rangdhanu-fashion.ecommerceautopilot.com, rangdhanufashion.com and rangdhanu.shop. The owner presses Make main next to rangdhanufashion.com. A shopper who opens rangdhanu.shop/product/red-saree lands on rangdhanufashion.com/product/red-saree.
Good to know
- www can be main too. If you prefer www.rangdhanufashion.com, press Make main next to the www address once it works.
- It never sends shoppers to a dead address. If your main domain stops working (for example your paid package ends and the domain pauses), the next working address is used until it works again.
- Removing the main domain moves the main address to the next working one.
- The admin panel is not moved. It works on every address of your store.
- Store ID page. My workspace › Store ID also shows your main address.
Common problems
- "That address cannot be the main one yet — an own domain must be working over https first." Finish connecting the domain until it shows Working (https), then try again.
- There is no Make main button. The address is already main, or it is not working yet.
