In a Money out or Money in entry, press Add quantity (kg, pcs, litre), type the Quantity and choose the Unit. The quantity is optional. It lets you see later how much you bought or sold, not only what it cost.
Where to find it
Admin › ERP › Accounts Department › Cashbook (or My cashbook), in the entry form under Category.
The store owner and staff with the Own cash wallet feature can use it.
Step by step
- Press Money out or Money in.
- Fill in the amount, date, account and Category as usual.
- Press Add quantity (kg, pcs, litre) under the category.
- Type the Quantity, for example 25. Decimals are fine (2.5).
- Choose the Unit: kg, pcs, litre or units (for anything else).
- Press Save.
How it works
The first time you save a category with a quantity, the category keeps that unit as its usual unit. Next time you pick that category, the quantity box opens by itself with the same unit.
Example: Rangdhanu Fashion buys thread every week. The first entry under "Thread" is ৳3,000 for 20 pcs. From then on, picking "Thread" opens the quantity box set to pcs.
The quantity then shows:
- In the cashbook list, as a small label next to the entry ("20 pcs").
- In the cashbook export, in its own Quantity column.
- In Spending by category, as totals by unit, and the price per unit when a category used one unit only (for example ৳150 / pcs).
Good to know
- Sales from the factory add their kg by themselves. A factory sale with a weight puts that kg on its cashbook entry.
- Leave it empty if you do not know the quantity. An empty or 0 quantity is simply not saved.
- No quantity on transfers or supplier payments. The box is not used there.
- The owner can set the usual unit of a category in Income & expense types (Usual unit).
- Mixed units are kept apart. If one category has entries in kg and in pcs, the totals show both ("120 kg · 4 pcs") and no price per unit.
Common problems
- The quantity box did not open by itself. The category has no usual unit yet. Press Add quantity once and save; it remembers from then on.
- No price per unit in the report. The category has entries in more than one unit.
