Open Spending by category, choose the categories and dates, and press Show. You see how much went out or came in, on which days, with the quantity (kg, pcs …) when entries carry one, and every entry with whom it was for.
Where to find it
Admin › ERP › Accounts Department › Spending by category (ক্যাটাগরি অনুযায়ী হিসাব). The By category button on the Cashbook opens it with the same dates, direction, account and category you had there.
The same people as the cashbook use it. The store owner sees every account. A staff member with the Own cash wallet feature sees only the entries of the accounts given to them.
Step by step
- Pick the dates with the date button at the top.
- Click All categories, tick the categories you want (type in Find a category… to search) and press Show. Leave it on All categories to see everything.
- Choose In and out, Money out or Money in.
- Choose one account, or leave All accounts.
- Press Show.
- Press Export CSV to download the same report.
What you see
- Total money out and Total money in, each with the average a day.
- Entries: how many, and on how many of the days, for example "on 18 of 30 days".
- Quantity, when entries noted one, such as "120 kg".
- Day by day: each date with money out, money in and quantity. Click a date to open the cashbook for that day.
- By category: each category's amount, entries, days and quantity, biggest first. When a category used one unit only, it also shows the price per unit, such as "৳45 / kg". Click a category name to see only that one.
- Entries: every line under the totals, newest first, with Date, Who, Category, Note, Account and Amount (+ for money in, − for money out). Who is the staff member for a salary or advance, else the supplier, else the name written on the entry. Up to the latest 300 lines are listed.
Example: Rangdhanu Fashion wants to know what breakfast cost last month. The owner picks last month, ticks "Nasta bill", chooses Money out and presses Show: ৳6,300 on 21 of 30 days, about ৳210 a day.
Good to know
- Transfers are left out. Moving money between your own accounts is not money in or out.
- Supplier categories are not in the list. Supplier bills and payments have their own pages.
- The average divides by every day in the dates you picked (up to today), not only the days with entries.
- Remove a category by clicking the × on its chip under the filters.
- The CSV has the totals, the day-by-day table, the per-category table (with quantity and price per unit) and the entries: date, who, category, note, account, money in and money out.
- Who took an advance? Tick "Staff advance (অগ্রিম)" and press Show: each advance is listed with the staff member's name.
Common problems
- A staff member sees less than the owner. They only see the accounts given to them. Give them the account if they should see it.
- The same spending is split in two categories. The owner can merge them in Income & expense types.
