Bing Webmaster Tools shows how your shop does on Bing and lets you send it your sitemap. To prove the shop is yours, copy Bing's meta tag, paste it in Bing verification on the SEO page, press Save, then press Verify in Bing.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Marketing & SEO › SEO settings (মার্কেটিং ও SEO › এসইও সেটিংস), in the Owner only box.
Only the store owner (Super Admin) sees and saves this box. Codes that prove ownership stay with the owner.
Step by step
- Open Bing Webmaster Tools and sign in.
- Add your site with its full address, exactly as it opens, for example
https://yourshop.com. - Choose the HTML Meta Tag way and copy the line. It starts with
<meta name="msvalidate.01". - In your admin panel, open Marketing & SEO › SEO settings and scroll to Owner only.
- Paste the line into Bing verification. Pasting only the long code inside
content="…"also works. - Press Save. You see "SEO settings saved".
- Go back to Bing and press Verify.
Good to know
- Keep the code in place. Bing may check again later; if you delete it, the shop can lose its verified status.
- Then submit your sitemap. In Bing Webmaster Tools, add
https://yourshop.com/sitemap.xml(your own address) under Sitemaps. - Already on Google Search Console? Bing also offers to import sites from Search Console when you add one; you can use that instead.
- The address must match.
https://yourshop.comandhttps://www.yourshop.comare not the same. Use the address your shop opens on. If you move to your own domain later, verify the new address. - Your shop only. The tag is added to your own shop's pages, never to another store.
- Google uses a different place. The Google Search Console code goes in Tracking & codes › Google Analytics & Tag Manager, not here.
Common problems
- Bing says the tag was not found. Open your shop's home page, view the page source and search for
msvalidate.01. If it is missing, paste the code again and press Save. - I cannot see Bing verification. You are not signed in as the store owner.
- The shop is hidden from Google. If Hide the whole store from Google is on, search engines are asked to skip every page, Bing included. Turn it off when you are ready to be found.
