On the gateway's card in Online payments, switch on Test mode (sandbox — no real money), write the gateway's sandbox keys and press Save. Place a small order on your own shop, pay on the sandbox page, and check that the order shows paid. Then switch Test mode off and save your live keys.
Where to find it
Admin › Administration › Settings › Online payments. The Test mode switch is on the bKash, aamarPay and ShurjoPay cards. (Send money has none: no gateway is involved.)

Step by step
- Get the sandbox (test) details from the gateway: bKash, aamarPay or ShurjoPay.
- Open Online payments and find the gateway's card.
- Switch on Test mode (sandbox — no real money) and Show at checkout.
- Write the sandbox keys. For aamarPay the sandbox store ID is "aamarpaytest".
- Press Save. The card shows On at checkout and a yellow Test mode badge.
- Open your shop in another tab, add a cheap product to the cart and go to checkout.
- Choose the gateway and press Confirm order.
- Pay on the gateway's sandbox page with its test account.
- Check that you land on the thank-you page.
- In Admin › Online store › Website orders › All orders, check the order's Payment Status is paid. Click it to see the transaction ID.
- Back on the card, switch Test mode off, write your live keys and press Save. The yellow badge goes away.
Good to know
- Real customers see the gateway too. While Show at checkout is on, the gateway appears to every shopper, even in Test mode, and no real money moves. Test at a quiet time and switch Test mode off as soon as you finish.
- Test keys and live keys are different. Sandbox keys work only with Test mode on; live keys only with it off.
- Secret boxes keep the saved value when left empty. When you move from sandbox to live, type the new secret (App secret, Password, Signature key) too, not only the ID.
- Remove the test order afterwards, so it does not count in your sales.
Common problems
- "The online payment could not open — you can pay on delivery." The gateway refused the keys. Check you wrote sandbox keys with Test mode on.
- You paid in the sandbox, but the order stays cod. You did not come back to the shop after paying, or the amount did not match. Try again and wait to be sent back to the thank-you page.
- The Test mode badge is still there after going live. Untick Test mode and press Save again.
