To take bKash payments at checkout, get a bKash merchant account with the payment gateway (Tokenized Checkout). Then go to Admin › Administration › Settings › Online payments, fill the bKash card with your App key, App secret, Username and Password, switch on Show at checkout and press Save.
Where to find it
Admin › Administration › Settings › Online payments, on the pink bKash card. Only the store owner opens this page (it belongs to Payments & profit (owner)).
Step by step
- Open a bKash merchant account with payment gateway (Tokenized Checkout) from bKash. The card has a link to bKash's page.
- bKash sends you four things: App key, App secret, Username and Password.
- Go to Admin › Administration › Settings › Online payments and find the bKash card.
- Switch on Show at checkout.
- To try it first with no real money, also switch on Test mode (sandbox — no real money).
- Write the App key, App secret, Username and Password.
- Press Save. The message says "bKash: saved — customers can pay with it now."
- Place a test order. When it works, switch Test mode off and press Save again to go live.
How it works
- At checkout the customer picks bKash payment ("Pay with your bKash account"). The order is saved, and they go to bKash's page to pay.
- When they come back, the shop asks bKash about the payment. The order is marked paid only when bKash says it is completed and the amount equals the order total.
- The payment is then written on the order once, with bKash's transaction ID.
- If the customer cancels or the payment fails, they go back to your shop's home page and the order is not marked paid.
Good to know
- Secrets stay hidden. After saving, the App secret and Password boxes show "saved — leave empty to keep it". Leave them empty unless you are changing them.
- Every box is needed. If one box is empty, the card says Fill every box and bKash stays off at checkout.
- Your own account. The keys are kept encrypted and used only for your shop.
- If bKash's page does not open, the order is still saved and the customer is told they can pay on delivery.
Common problems
- Customers do not see bKash payment. Check the card says On at checkout. If it says Fill every box, fill the empty box and press Save.
- No real money is coming in. The Test mode badge is still on the card, so bKash's sandbox is being used. Switch Test mode off and press Save.
