Tags are your own labels for customers, like "Wholesale" or "Do not call". Make them with the Tags button on the Customers page, then tick them on a customer's profile and press Save.
Where to find it
- Your tags: Admin › CRM › Customers › Customers › Tags
- Tagging one customer: open the customer, then Details › Tags
Making, changing and giving tags needs CRM — work with customers. Admin, Manager, Supervisor and Moderator get it with their role. A Store Manager or Seller can be given it.
Step by step
Make or change your tags
- Go to Admin › CRM › Customers › Customers and press Tags.
- To add one, pick a colour, type the name (for example "Corporate") and press Add.
- To rename one, change its name or colour and press the tick button next to it.
- To delete one, press the bin button and confirm. The tag is taken off every customer who had it.
Tag a customer
- Open the customer's profile.
- Under Details › Tags, tick the tags that fit. Untick any that no longer fit.
- Press Save.
Good to know
- Starter tags. The first time your store opens the CRM, three tags are made for you: Wholesale, Follow up and Do not call. Rename or delete them as you like. They are not made again.
- Filter by tag. On the Customers page, pick a tag in Any tag and press Filter to see only those customers. Mix it with a group, a staff member or a search.
- Tags show everywhere a customer does: in the list, on the profile and in Export CSV.
- Tags and groups are different. Groups (VIP, Repeat, New, Inactive, Risky…) are set by the orders by themselves. Tags are only what your team gives.
- A tag name can be up to 60 characters.
- Each store has its own tags. Another store never sees them.
Common problems
- There is no Tags button and the tag boxes are grey. The login has only CRM — see customers. Add CRM — work with customers in Admin › Administration › Users & access › Users & logins.
- You ticked tags but they did not stay. Press Save at the bottom of Details after ticking.
