Can I use a second Meta app (WhatsApp only) with the Inbox?

Yes. If your WhatsApp number runs on a different Meta app than your Facebook page (for example a WhatsApp-only app), save that app's secret in Inbox settings › 2. Rules › Second Meta app secret. Messages signed by either of your two apps are then taken in.

Where to find it

Admin › CRM › Inbox › Inbox settings (সিআরএম › ইনবক্স), box 2. Rules, under Meta app secret.

Only the store owner (Super Admin) sees and saves the second app secret. The Admin does not see this box.

Step by step

  1. In the second Meta app, open its basic settings and copy the App secret.
  2. In the panel, go to Admin › CRM › Inbox › Inbox settings.
  3. In 2. Rules, paste it into Second Meta app secret.
  4. Press Save rules. The box now says ● saved.
  5. In the second app, set the WhatsApp webhook to the same Callback URL and Verify token from the For the Meta app (webhook) card, and subscribe messages.
  6. Connect the WhatsApp number in 3. Connected pages with a token from the second app and the WhatsApp Business Account ID.

How it works

  • Each message is checked. Meta signs every message it sends with the app's secret. The panel accepts a message signed with your main app secret or with the second one.
  • Connect points the account at the right app. With the Business Account ID filled in, Connect subscribes the WhatsApp Business Account to the app the token belongs to. So a token from the second app makes Meta send that number's messages through the second app.
  • The main secret stays. Keep your Meta app secret saved too. The second one is an extra, not a replacement.

Example: Rangdhanu Fashion's Facebook page and Instagram use the app "Rangdhanu Inbox". Its WhatsApp number was set up in another app, "Rangdhanu WhatsApp". The owner saves the second app's secret, points its webhook to the store, and connects the number with that app's token.

Good to know

  • Leave it empty to keep it. When a second secret is saved, an empty box keeps the saved one.
  • To remove it, tick Remove the second app secret and press Save rules.
  • The secret is kept encrypted and is never shown again.

Common problems

  • "Last calls from Meta" shows "Signature did not match". Neither saved secret belongs to the app that sent the message. Copy the right app's secret again and press Save rules.
  • "Saved, but Meta did not let the WhatsApp account send messages here yet: …". Meta refused the subscription. Read the reason, check the token belongs to the second app, and connect again.
