In a chat, press the clock button (Send later) in the answer box, pick the date and time, write your message or add files, and press send. It goes to the customer by itself at that time, and you can cancel it until then.
Where to find it
Admin › CRM › Inbox, open a chat. The clock button is with the other tools in the answer box.
The seller who has the chat can schedule a message, and so can people with Inbox — every chat.
Step by step
- Open the chat.
- Press the clock button in the answer box. A Send at box appears, set one hour ahead.
- Change the date and time if needed.
- Write the message. You can also add photos, files, a voice note or gallery photos, just like a normal answer.
- Press the send button (it now shows a clock).
- A message confirms the time, for example "Will be sent 31 Oct, 10:30 AM." The page reloads.
- Changed your mind before sending? Press Send now instead to go back to a normal answer.
How it works
- Scheduled messages wait in a list under the answer box, with the time, the start of the text, the number of files and who set it.
- Sent as the seller who set it. The message shows that seller's name in the chat.
- When it goes, it counts as an answer, just like one you send by hand.
- The inbox checks for messages that are due every minute.
Cancel a scheduled message
Press Cancel next to it in the list. It will not be sent. The person who set it can cancel it, and so can people with Inbox — every chat.
Good to know
- The time must be later than now. Otherwise you see "Choose a time later than now."
- Up to 10 files can go with one scheduled message.
- Comments on posts cannot get a scheduled message. The clock button only shows in normal chats.
- Facebook's 24-hour rule counts at the moment the message goes, not when you set it. On WhatsApp, after 24 hours only an approved template can be sent.
Common problems
- The message shows "not sent" in the chat. Facebook or WhatsApp refused it when it went. The reason is written next to it. Answer again, or use a WhatsApp template.
- There is no clock button. The chat is a post comment, or the chat belongs to another seller.
