How do I get a Facebook Ads token for message counts?

To bring ad messages and spend into your Sales team, you need an access token from Meta with the ads_read permission. The steadiest way is a "system user" token from your Meta Business settings. Paste it on the Facebook Ads page and press Save and check.

Where to find it

Admin › ERP › Sales Department › Sales team (সেলস বিভাগ › সেলস টিম), then the Facebook Ads button. Only the store owner (Super Admin) sees this button, because it shows what the ads cost.

Step by step

  1. Open Meta Business settings for the business that owns your ad accounts.
  2. Go to System users and add one (for example "Rangdhanu reports").
  3. Give that system user access to your ad accounts. Permission to see the ad account's reports is enough.
  4. Choose Generate token for the system user. Pick an app of your business (make one first if you have none).
  5. Tick the permission ads_read. If Meta lets you choose how long the token lasts, choose the longest, so it does not stop working.
  6. Copy the token.
  7. In the panel, open Sales team › Facebook Ads and paste it in Access token.
  8. Ad account IDs: leave it empty to use every ad account the token can see, or type the ones you want, separated by commas. The number alone or with act_ in front both work.
  9. Press Save and check. The message lists the ad accounts the token sees.
  10. Make sure each ad's name, or its ad set or campaign name, holds the page code as a separate word, for example RF - Eid panjabi or [RF] winter.

Good to know

  • Read only. The panel uses the token only to read ad reports. It cannot change ads or spend money. It is stored encrypted for your shop.
  • Where to find an ad account ID: Ads Manager shows it next to the account's name in the account list.
  • Every hour the last 3 days are read again by themselves. Press Bring messages now to read up to the last 3 months at once.
  • Page codes are the codes of your sales pages in the Sales team. Ads with no code in their names show under Ads with no page code in the name.
  • A token from your own personal login usually expires after a while. A system user token is made for a link that keeps running.
  • Disconnect removes the token. Messages already brought in stay.

Common problems

  • "Facebook did not accept this token: …" The token is wrong, expired, or was made without ads_read. Make a new one.
  • The token sees 0 ad accounts. The system user was not given the ad accounts (step 3). Add them, then press Save and check again.
  • "Last try failed: …" shows on the page. Often the token has expired. Paste a new one and press Save and check.
