If your SMS company is not in the list, choose Other (web address) and paste the company's sending link. Put {number} where the phone number goes and {message} where the text goes. Save, then send a test SMS.
Where to find it
Admin › Administration › Settings › SMS (প্রশাসন › সেটিং). The page is called SMS Settings.
Only the store owner sees this link.
Step by step
- Ask your SMS company for its "HTTP API" sending address: a link that sends one SMS when it is opened. It usually has your API key, a sender ID, the number and the text in it.
- Replace the phone number in that link with
{number}and the text with{message}. For example:https://api.example.com/send?key=YOUR_KEY&to={number}&text={message} - Go to Admin › Administration › Settings › SMS.
- In SMS company, choose Other (web address).
- Paste the link into the Web address box.
- Tick Send SMS.
- Press Save. You see "SMS settings saved — SMS is on."
- In Send a test SMS, type your own number (01XXXXXXXXX) and press Send.
How it works
For each SMS, the panel puts the customer's number and the message into your link and opens it. The number always goes as 8801XXXXXXXXX (88 added in front of an 01 number). The text is made safe for a web link (spaces and Bangla letters are coded), so it does not break the link.
Good to know
- The link is kept secret. It holds your API key, so it is stored encrypted and not shown again. The box then says saved — leave empty to keep it. To change it, paste the whole new link.
- Read the answer of the test. After a test you see "Sent." or "Not sent." and the company's own answer. "Sent." means the company's server answered without an error. Some companies still put an error code in their answer, so read it, and check that the SMS reached your phone.
- Opened links only. The panel opens the link (a GET request). A company that only takes data sent in another way will not work with this option.
- Both placeholders are needed. Write them exactly as
{number}and{message}, in small letters, with curly brackets. - Order message. The text customers get when they order is set on the same page. The Send button stays grey until SMS is on and the link is saved.
Common problems
- "Not sent" with an answer like "invalid API key". The key in your link is wrong. Paste the whole link again with the right key.
- "Sent", but no SMS arrives. Read the company's answer shown after "Sent.". Often the sender ID is not approved, or the balance is empty.
- The number arrives in the wrong form. Your company may want the number without 88. Ask the company whether it accepts 8801XXXXXXXXX.
