How do I set the search bar's suggestions?

Go to Admin › Online store › Store design › Search bar. Write the hint texts in Search Title and the popular search words in Auto Suggestion Search Item, separate each one with a comma, and press Update.

Where to find it

Admin › Online store › Store design › Search bar (অনলাইন স্টোর › স্টোর ডিজাইন). The store owner always sees it. A staff member needs the Website design tick in Users & logins (the Admin role has it).

Step by step

Open Store design › Search bar.
In Search Title, write the hint texts customers see inside the empty search box, separated by commas. For example: Search for three-piece, Find a panjabi, Saree for Eid.
In Auto Suggestion Search Item, write the words shoppers search for most, separated by commas. For example: three-piece, panjabi, saree, kurti.
Press Update.
Open your shop and click into the search box to check.

How it works

Search Title texts are typed out one after another inside the empty search box, like a moving hint. With no text saved, the box shows "What are you looking for...".
Auto Suggestion Search Item words appear in a small Popular searches list as soon as a customer clicks into the search box. Each word opens the search results for that word.
Both show in the search box at the top of every shop page, on computers and on phones, whichever theme you use.

Good to know

Only commas separate items. Pressing Enter between words does not make a new item; put a comma between them.
Bangla words work too (for example শাড়ি, পাঞ্জাবি). But when a shopper views the shop in English, Bangla hint texts in Search Title are left out; if no English hint is left, the box shows "What are you looking for...". In Bangla mode every hint shows. Write a few English hints as well as Bangla ones.
Keep the list short: 4–8 suggestions are easy to read on a phone.
Use words that match your product names, so every suggestion finds something.

Common problems

I emptied a box and pressed Update, but the old words are still there. An empty box is not saved. Keep at least one item, or replace the words with the ones you want.
Two words show as one suggestion. They were on separate lines without a comma. Add a comma between them and save again.
The Search bar link is missing. Ask the owner to tick Website design for you in Users & logins.
