Go to Admin › Online store › Store design › Home categories. Tick the categories for each of the three lists (Sidebar Category, Top Category, New Arrival Category) and press Update at the bottom.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Store design › Home categories (অনলাইন স্টোর › স্টোর ডিজাইন). The store owner always sees it. A staff member needs the Website design tick in Users & logins (the Admin role has it).
Step by step
- Add your categories first in Admin › Online store › Products › Categories, each with a picture.
- Open Store design › Home categories.
- Under Sidebar Category, tick the categories for the category menu.
- Under Top Category, tick the categories that get a picture box on the home page.
- Under New Arrival Category, tick the categories that get a tab in the New arrivals section.
- Press Update once, at the bottom. All three lists are saved together.
How it works

The Sidebar Category menu uses your main categories that are marked popular. In Products › Categories, select the main categories and press Active Popular. If no popular category is ticked for the menu, every popular main category is shown.
If fewer than two categories are ticked under Top Category, Shop by category shows your main categories instead (popular ones first). The New arrivals tabs show only when at least two ticked categories have products.
Good to know
- These sections belong to the Default store theme. The other ready-made themes draw their own home page.
- To switch a section off or move it, use Admin › Online store › Store design › Home page.
- Each list shows 50 categories at a time; use the page numbers under a list to see more.
- Shop by category shows the category's own picture, so give every ticked category a clear picture.
- One row on computers. On a computer, Shop by category shows a single row: as many categories as fit across the screen. The rest are one click away on All categories. On phones and tablets it is one row the shopper swipes sideways.
- Pages can also go into the home page menu, after the categories: tick Menu bar on the home page on the page in Pages & blog › Pages.
Common problems
- A ticked category is not in the menu. It is a sub-category, or it is not marked popular. Make it a main category and press Active Popular for it in Products › Categories.
- I unticked every box in a list, but nothing changed. A list with no ticks is not saved. Keep at least one category ticked in each list.
- Nothing changed on the home page. Check that the Default theme is on in Store design › Store themes.
