Go to Admin › Online store › Store design › Store themes and press Remove sample products at the top, then confirm. All the theme's sample products go in one click. Your own products are not touched.
Where to find it
Admin › Online store › Store design › Store themes, in the bar On your shop now. The button shows only while sample products are in your shop, next to a line such as "12 sample products are in your shop."
Step by step
- Open Store themes.
- In the top bar, read how many sample products are in your shop.
- Press Remove sample products.
- Your browser asks "Remove all sample products now? Your own products are not touched." Press OK.
- You see "… sample products removed. Products someone already ordered were kept as normal products."
- The bar now says "No sample products in your shop."
Good to know
- Samples never count against your package's product limit. You can keep them while you set up.
- Remove them before you go live, so customers only see what you really sell.
- Ordered samples stay. If a customer ordered a sample product, it is kept and becomes a normal product, so the order stays complete.
- Sample categories go too, but only when no product is left in them.
- An edited sample is still a sample. If you changed a sample's name, photo or price to make it your own, Remove sample products still deletes it. Add your real products as new products instead.
- Applying another theme with samples ticked also removes the old theme's samples first.
- You can add samples again later: apply a theme and tick Add … sample products and … categories.
Example: Rangdhanu Fashion applied a theme with samples on the first day. After adding 25 real products, the owner pressed Remove sample products. One sample had already been ordered by a test customer, so it stayed as a normal product, and the owner then hid it.
Common problems
- There is no Remove sample products button. Your shop has no sample products. The bar says "No sample products in your shop."
- A sample product is still in the shop after removing. Someone ordered it, so it was kept as a normal product. Hide or delete it from All products if you do not sell it.
