How do I preview and apply a theme?

Open Admin › Online store › Store design › Store themes, press Preview on a theme to see your home page in it, then press Apply and Apply theme. Nothing changes on your shop until you apply, and you can switch back at any time.

Where to find it

Admin › Online store › Store design › Store themes. The store owner sees it, and so does staff with the Website design tick.

Step by step

Open Store themes. Use the filter buttons or the search box to find themes for your kind of shop.
Press Preview on a theme card. Your home page opens in a new tab, drawn in that theme with its sample products. Customers still see your current theme.
Back on the themes page, press Apply on the theme you like. A small box opens on the card.
Choose whether to tick Add … sample products and … categories. It is ticked by itself when your shop has fewer than 10 products, and unticked when you already have more.
Press Apply theme. Copying the sample photos can take a little while, so wait for the page to come back.
You see "The "…" theme is on your shop now." The card now shows Active, and On your shop now shows its name. Press View shop to see it.

Example: Rangdhanu Fashion previews three fashion themes one after the other, then applies "Traditional Wear" without samples, because the shop already has 40 products.

Good to know

Switching back: press Apply on the Default card and then Apply Default. Your products and settings stay as they are.
A preview link works for two hours. After that, press Preview again.
The Default card has no Preview button. It shows your shop's normal layout instead.
If you tick samples, the sample products of the theme that was on before are taken away first. Samples someone has already ordered stay as normal products.
Start Free package: after the 7-day trial, Preview and Apply are closed and the shop shows the Default theme. The page says "Themes are locked on the free package". You can always go back to Default.

Common problems

"Store themes are part of every paid package…" Your free trial has ended. Press Choose a package, or go to Admin › Administration › Settings › Package & billing.
The preview shows my real theme. The preview link has expired. Press Preview again.
