Your store's address is chosen in the Web address box while you create the store. Type a short name; it is checked as you type, and it becomes your free shop address: yourname.ecommerceautopilot.com.
Where to find it
ecommerceautopilot.com/start › Name your store › Web address, the step after you make your account.
Step by step
- Write your Business name first. The Web address box fills itself from it, for example "Rangdhanu Fashion" becomes
rangdhanu-fashion. - To use something else, type in the Web address box. The part
.ecommerceautopilot.comis added for you. - Wait a moment. A green line says "Great — rangdhanu-fashion.ecommerceautopilot.com is free."
- If the line is red, read the reason and use the address after Try:, or type another one.
- When it is green, finish the form and press Create store.
While domains are on sale, your Business name is also checked as a domain (.com first), for example "Congratulations! rangdhanufashion.com is available". Press Use this domain to start with it, or just continue on the free address. This does not change your web address.
Good to know
- The rules: 3 to 30 characters, small English letters (a–z), numbers and "-". No "-" at the start or end, and no two "-" together.
- The box tidies what you type: capital letters become small, and spaces or other signs become "-".
- Some names are kept by eCommerce Autopilot and cannot be used, such as
shop, store, admin, demo, testandhelp. - Every address can belong to one store only. The first store to take it keeps it.
- Short and easy to say is best. Customers type it, and you will print it on parcels and posts.
- Your own domain (like
rangdhanufashion.com): a domain you buy from eCommerce Autopilot works on every package, Start Free too. A domain from another company can be connected later on a paid package, from Admin › Online store › Store design › Custom domain. Your free address keeps working next to your own domain.
Common problems
- "This address is already taken. Please choose another." Another store has it. Use the suggestion or add a word, for example
rangdhanu-bd. - "This name is kept by eCommerce Autopilot. Please choose another." Add your shop's name to it, for example
rangdhanu-shopinstead ofshop. - "Use 3–30 small English letters, numbers or “-” (not at the start or end)." The address is too short or ends with "-". Fix it as the message says.
- Business name in Bangla. The address uses English letters only, so the box may stay empty or look odd. Type the address yourself in English letters, for example
rangdhanu.
