What a courier charges for one parcel
Courier charges in Bangladesh are usually made of three parts. The base charge covers the first kg and depends on where the parcel goes: inside Dhaka is cheapest, Dhaka suburbs such as Savar, Gazipur or Narayanganj sit in the middle, and the rest of the country costs most. An extra charge per kg is added for heavier parcels. And for cash on delivery, the courier takes a COD charge, a small percentage of the cash it collects for you.
This calculator adds all three, so you see the real cost of a parcel before you set your delivery charge or your offer.
Inside Dhaka and outside Dhaka: why it matters for your price
Many shops show one delivery charge for Dhaka and one for outside Dhaka. If your outside-Dhaka charge is lower than what the courier takes, you pay the difference on every parcel. Run the outside-Dhaka numbers here and compare them with the delivery charge on your website or in your Facebook post.
Payout: the money that comes back
The payout is the cash collected minus the delivery charge and the COD charge. For a batch, multiply by the number of parcels to plan your cash for the week. Remember that returned parcels bring no payout and still cost a charge; use the return-loss calculator to see that side.
Use your courier's current rates
The base charges, per-kg charge and COD % filled in are examples only. Rates differ between couriers and change from time to time, and some couriers do not take a COD charge inside Dhaka. Open your courier's panel or rate card and type the rates you actually pay.
In eCommerce Autopilot, orders are booked with the courier from the order screen, and the delivery charge, COD charge and payout of every parcel are kept with the order, so the cash you are owed is always clear.
